Every professional
photographer strives for a high and even picture quality, a confidence
that the lens of choice will provide high-quality color reproduction
from their digital photographic camera. Hasselblad's Zeiss lenses
have been known among professional photographers for high quality
photo imagining.

| The
adapted Carl Zeiss lens on the Olympus E-510 is fitted with
a special Conkin filter system and a Hasselblad focusing ring.

I found an adaptor
on eBay that would accept the same standard lens on a Hasselblad
to fit on the 4/3 DSLRs such as the E-510 and E-500. It’s
the Planar CF T*, f:2.8, 80mm (medium format) with the 35mm equivalent
of 200mm.
The Carl Zeiss CF
T* lens is grounded and polished to perfection, and a multi-coating
of as many as six layers per optical glass. The coating increases
the light transmission and reduces its contrast and color saturation.
This gives digital images the most brilliant highlights and the
most beautiful shadow details.
Although the Zeiss
lens must be manually adjusted for both f-stops and focus, its
place in my collection of digital lenses is an added necessity,
especially for special portraits and depth of field effects. The
first few digital shots produced images obviously of better quality
than the cheaper Japanese lenses.
