Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Ken Parks of ETC Ministries has devoted to concentrate his efforts on a series of lessons for a course entitled Confidence of Faith. This is where one's feet hits the pavement and you have to take off running. This is not a course for those still in the crawling stages of their spiritual level of growth.

Spiritual maturity is key in understanding, not as an infant, but one who is able to handle the Word of God with proper reasoning and a level of maturity beyond bottle-feeding.

These lessons are designed for proper nutrition and feeding of His sheep, for exhortation, for building up the body of Christ, for confidence of the faith, discernment, and more importantly for the love of human restoration and presentation of the good news, His salvation.

Without Christ, we are nothing. We would have no hope on earth or in heaven. We would have no understanding through His appointed Holy Spirit. And, we would have no true love of only which He can provide.

Jesus asked Peter three times, “Do you love me?” Upon each response He told him “Feed my sheep.” Did he mean to feed them constantly as babies with only the milk? No. He meant to feed them nourishing foods as they partake of their spiritual growth.

Today, we have a movement that has become very popular and spread like a cancer among those who think they are being properly fed. It is the Word of Faith (WoF) doctrine. There are men who teach this form of theology in which God wants us to be materially prosperous, never be sick, and always be happy. The unbalanced and aberrant teaching comes from the lips of Kenneth Copeland, Joyce Myers, and Joel Osteen to name a handful. The Trinity Broadcast Network (TBN) owned and operated by Paul and Jan Crouch, have expounded upon this misguided WoF doctrine and ensure guest speakers of the same belief system. They are feeding the sheep junk food.

It is through these series of lessons that one can distinguish the Truth from error. The Apostle John wrote, “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” (1 John 4:1) When people go from the crawling stages and ate able to stand and walk, then they will see the erroneous teachings of the WoF movement and how it will cause deception among those who attend church for a season.

The Apostle Paul, through the Spirit of God proclaimed with unprecedented clarity that many will be deceived and many will fall away from the faith. If one is feeding on the junk food of the Word of Faith doctrine, then they are highly susceptible of being deceived and falling away from the faith.

ETC Ministries realizes the value of total Holy Scriptures and is compelled by the Holy Spirit to expose the fruits of darkness such as the WoF doctrines through its teachings and practices. ETC Ministries does not teach the “gab it and grab it” or the prosperity doctrine of which has inundated the so-called Christian TV airways and church pulpits.

There are many people who prefer to be fed the easy junk food doctrine of the WoF super-apostles. And there are a few honest seeking Christians who would rather be fed the Truth as a balanced diet composed of meat, vegetables, wine, and bread. Sucking down only juicy-fruits of the WoF diet will cause malnutrition and an unhealthy body.

The course, Confidence of Faith, will allow one to become sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit and listen to the things of God. This is not some special training or “exclusive teaching” but sound Biblical doctrine and proper interpretation. The course offers clarity in ones “Purposeful Life” in the sight of God. The course offers the confidence for one to stand firm against the fiery darts and defend the faith with the entire armor of God. And the course allows one to perceive the reliance of God as their protector and provider in all things.

In His Majesty’s Service,
Ken Parks

The Apostle Paul provided us warnings about the super-apostles and how they preach "another gospel." Paul taught with confidence and surety of the Faith. He was not one to take lightly those who mixed the Word of God with the teachings of this world. And unlike so many Word of Faith preachers and teachers, he exposed their peddling the Word of God for profit.

The junk food doctrine of the Word of Faith super-apostles provides a diet that will only leave to malnutrition and an unhealthy body. Proper spiritual diet leads to a healthy spiritual body and being strong in the faith. Exercising one's faith leads to long endurance and the ability to defend the faith with confidence and ease.

Joel Osteen preaches an unbalanced doctrine consisting of material prosperity and health. The teaching is very popular among those who are ignorant of the Word of God and desire to have their itching ears tickled. Ken Parks of ETC Ministries warns that this is the type of teaching that will lead to deception and falling away from the faith. They will become lovers of themselves, lovers of fun and entertainment, and lovers of money. They will take pride in themselves and become people of a wavering faith, tossed about by every wind of doctrine soothing to their itching ears.
