Spirit
of Prophecy |

DULUTH, GA (KP) — We are in the days of the birth pangs
as Jesus of Nazareth prophesied. His prophecies, in most cases, have fallen
on deaf ears. And for some, they have come to hate his prophecies, twisting
the meanings of what He said, cajoling with one another, and mocking the
visions of His elect.
“…Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” (Revelation 19:10) If they hate His testimony, then it stands to reason that they will hate the testimony of His elect. They will and have already hated the spirit of prophecy. I have to ask, “Why would they dismiss the testimony of Jesus Christ? Why would they hate Him?” The reason has come clear. Many people have set their affections on the things of this earth and have purposely avoided spiritual things. They seem to gladly seek the mammon of this world, follow the preaching of the wealth doctrine, and set their feet in the direction and hope for the love of money, power, prestige and leisure. Many people selectively listen to what they perceive to be good news and don’t want to hear the prophecies of the days to come. “Where there is no vision, the people perish…” (Proverbs 29:18, KJV) In so doing, those who hate the spirit of prophecy are ill prepared. They lack the ability to understand God’s spiritual voice. They don’t have the desire to seek spiritual things and nonchalantly dismiss any concerns of God’s inevitable travail. They will not be ready for the time of great troubles, which is soon coming upon us. Jesus told us, “You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.” (Matthew 24:6-8, NIV) There are some people who have listened to “The False Hope” of man, conjured up around 1830. They believe the spirit of prophecy is not needed for them because they believe in flying away, in a twinkling of an eye, rescued from the peril and tribulation to come. Jesus warned us from the outset, “Watch out that no one deceives you.” (Matthew 24:4) Deception is already playing a big hand in the card game, and a serious game at that. The Bible is laced with warnings about deception. “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” (1 John 4:1) There are some people who listen to other spirits such as the erroneous doctrine of Dan Brown, believing that Jesus was less than the Son of God, married and had offspring, and that his blood lineage is ongoing. Some people follow the prophecies of Nostradamus. It is inevitable that the hatred of the spirit of Christ will increase, especially as we approach the days of travail. “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.” (Matthew 24:9-11) Some of the described events have come to fruition. The sons and daughters of evil have notified the authorities against the visions of His elect, claiming that the visions favor the plans of terrorists. After 9/11, states of paranoia has reached the leaders of the free world and are apt to listen to the unfounded accusations of the sons and daughters of evil. Along with the false accusations, lies, ridicule, and mocking, His elect will be prosecuted, jailed, and even face death for the namesake of Jesus Christ. Some of the hatred will manifest itself as betrayal. There are sons and daughters of the evil one who have faked their way into the religious organizations. They have sung the songs, stated, “Lord, Lord,” and participated in church events. Some of them have the spirit of Pharisees and will be eager to receive cash awards for the whereabouts and evidence leading to the capture and arrests of those who testify the Gospel of Jesus Christ. “The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.” (1 Timothy 4:1) Those who abandon the faith were never really part of the faith; they were never born again of His Holy Spirit. They will abandon what they have heard over and over again, the Truth. They will listen to lies and deception of men influenced by the fallen angel. The sons and daughters of evil have already been trained, and the evil will increase. They hate the spirit of prophecy and desire to obey their father, the master of the pit.
